I am so excited to announce year two of my Mama + Me Mini Sessions on April 2nd! This year, we are shooting in the Glass House at Wild Hearts Farm in Tacoma! These are 20-minute mini-sessions for $375 + tax, and you will receive all edited images in a digital gallery.

Since becoming a mom, I am so focused on families, but especially on wanting to capture the love between a mom and her babies and I want to make sure this is a very intentional mini-session offering. Story Time

The intention was to share more about what to expect for your session, but I am going to get a little personal with you here.

Since becoming a mom, I am realizing how important it is to BE. IN. THE. PHOTO. So often I find all my photos in my camera roll are of the kids, of my husband being cute with the kids, or a selfie with my kids screaming to get away from me. All I want are some quality photos of me with my kids that they can look back on when they have kids of their own one day and say “look at this special memory with my mom, I am so glad I have this”.

As a mom, I also understand how different our body feels after having kids. I don’t feel as comfortable in my body. I am still working on loving it for the incredible and miraculous things it has done (IT GREW PEOPLE FROM SCRATCH…like wtf, that’s unreal). I am still working on seeing photos of myself and not cringing when I see my belly.

In fact, I had my own family session this past summer with my insanely talented friend Gina, who shot our wedding and other sessions, and when I received my gorgeous gallery, I remember upon first pass, I looked at them with a critical lens for MYSELF (the photos are absolutely beautiful, but I didn’t love MEEE). I hated my belly, my double chins, my legs…you name it, I was criticizing all of it.

But then, I decided to look through the gallery again. Instead, I chose to focus on my kids’ faces. The genuine smiles they had as I tickled them or chased them. The love in their eyes as I spun them around or tossed them overhead. When I changed my mindset, I ended up favoriting 100+ photos in that gallery.

Your Session

These sessions will be short and sweet, I like to say “20 is plenty” when it comes to photos with young kids, so this is a 20-minute mini-session.

I want these sessions to be fun and focused on interacting with your kid(s). So often kids get dragged to photo sessions and told to sit still and smile, and while typically most of my family sessions are relaxed, I want to make sure this is focused on being playful (running, dancing, bubbles, etc.) and carefree.

My hope for you when you step in front of my camera is that you do so confidently and genuinely love your images at the end of the day. I hope you feel the love in the photos between you and your loved ones. I hope to create images for you that bring you joy for generations to come.

The studio is all white with lots of windows and woodchips on the ground. I recommend a neutral color palette for your outfits and minimal patterns. A lot of patterns and bright colors can be distracting and loud, so I think simple is better! I recommend picking one pattern and then building the rest of the outfits off of that pattern. Here are a few examples from last April’s Mama + Me sessions at the same location!

I love the light in this studio so much, and the backdrops change seasonally. I am unsure what decor will be in there for our session but it’s usually super cute and moveable if we don’t want it in our photos! You can also bring props or toys to play with during our session.

You will receive all edited images in a digital gallery where you can download both high-resolution (great for printing) and web-size (great for posting) images as well as a print release for printing wherever you’d like! I will also be providing some treats for both mom and the kiddos as well.

Once you choose a time from my calendar, within 48 hours I will send over an invoice and a 50% deposit will be due immediately and the remainder will be due on the session date. I will send some messages leading up to the big day with more information as well as tips on how to dress.
